Rio de Janeiro, September 7, 2012 – Brazil’s Sada Cruzeiro will face UPCN of Argentina in the final of the men’s South American Club Championship on Sunday.

In Saturday’s semifinals, Cruzeiro defeated Chile’s Deportivo Linares 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-19) while UPCN overcame Venezuelan team Huracanes of Bolivar by a similar score, 25-21, 25-16, 25-19.

The winner of the final will secure a berth in the World Club Championship in Qatar.

Cruzeiro’s Argentine coach Marcelo Mendez is not expecting an easy time in the final.

“A final is a final and I expect a very difficult game,” he said.

With three 3-0 wins, Sada Cruzeiro finished the qualifying round of the men’s South American Club Championship undefeated.

On Friday, Mendez’s team defeated UPCN 25-18, 25-16 and 25-23 to finish top of Group B in the competition, which is taking place in the Chilean city of Liñares.
