London, Great Britain, August 2, 2012 - The men's Lucky Loser matches have been confirmed following the completion of pool play at the beach volleyball competition at Horse Guards Parade on Thursday.

Both Lucky Loser matches will take place at 23:00 following the two women’s Lucky Loser matches, with Germany’s Jonathan Erdmann and Kay Matysik taking on the Czech Republic’s Petr Benes and Premysl Kumala, who just lost the last pool play match of the competition 21-13, 21-15 to Olympic champions Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser, while Canada’s Martin Reader and Josh Binstock will play Italy’s Paolo Nicolai and Danielle Lupo.

Latvia’s Aleksandrs Samoilovs and Ruslans Sorokins, and Konstantin Semenov and Serguei Prokopiev of Russia finished as the best two third-placed teams.

The winners of the Lucky Loser matches will book a spot in the Last 16 with a drawing of lots determining their position at the top or bottom of the draw.
