Jackie Silva begins work with Brazilian girls' youth team
A total 13 players are training ahead of the FIVB Beach Volleyball Youth World Championships, set to take place in Larnaka, Cryprus from July 11 to 14.
“I am very happy with this opportunity,” Jackie said. “Being with young athletes in this wonderful place and together with the Brazilian Volleyball Federation makes me excited.”
The 50-year-old began working with players between 14 and 16-years-old last week as the country looks to build for the future.
“The most important thing for now is to know what level these players are at,” she added. “They are all very young and it is essential that they know their own weaknesses. We will call them again and make a new evaluation. All these players are going to be followed by us for years. Some of them will play this season, other will have opportunities next year and so on. This is a new way and our goal is to make new champions.”
The 13 players who spent last week practicing in Saquarema are Paula Hoffman, Lais Vasques, Amanda Fillipo, Victoria Baptista, Mariana Chaia, Ana Carolina Santos, Isabela Ghetti, Ana Luiza Mohr, Thais Vieira Simões, Drussyla Andressa Felix Costa, Beatriz Vieira and Eduarda Santos Lisboa.
