Italy became one of the first teams to book their place at the London 2012 Olympic Games after clinching the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup 2011

Lausanne, Switzerland, January 12, 2012 – With the first Continental Olympic Qualification tournament starting in Cameroon on Monday, the qualification process for the World Olympic Qualification tournaments for the London 2012 Olympic Games is here clarified as the countdown to London 2012 continues to gather pace.

With hosts Great Britain and the top three teams from the FIVB Men’s and Women’s World Cup (Italy, USA and China for the women and Russia, Poland and Brazil for the men) already earning their berths, only eight places remain for each gender.
