Puerto Rico's Brian Negron, the earliest star in the World Champs

Bright future for Puerto Rico's Brian Negron, with already two World Championships played

Almirante Brown, Argentina, August 27, 2011 - Brian Negron is not only the youngest player in the Puerto Rican Youth Team. And not only the youngest one of the entire tournament. He is also already a young star as he participated so far in two World Championships being only fifteen years old.

Born in February 12, 1996, Negron was part of the Junior Team which recently battled at the 16th Men's Juniors World Championship, from August 1 to 10 in Brazil. In Niterói, the venue for Puerto Rico through the entire tournament, he took part in three matches: against Germany and Belgium in the second round, and against Egypt in the final match for the 15th place.

In Argentina, the young setter achieved even more experience, being the usual replacement for teammate Howard García. Negron played against Serbia and Iran in Bahía Blanca, and then performed in the four games so far in Almirante Brown, against Egypt, Brazil, Tunisia and Korea.

In the 3-1 loss on Korean hands, Negron was the only player from Puerto Rico to enter the field from the bench. However, for the youngling the most important is "gain experience, learn how to breathe and correct mistakes".

Jesus Prieto, manager of the team, stated: "Brian is a true promise, we hope the best for him". But there's still plenty of work to be done, as the manager laughed: "Now we have to feed him, he is very thin".
