Teams from hosts Northern Marianna, Guam, Papua New Guinea and Australia will take part in the tournament from March 2-4, the first of three Sub-Zonal events set to take place on the continent as part of the ongoing qualification process for the 2012 Olympic Games.

The second tournament will be held in Vanuatu from May 17-21 with teams from Fiji, Tuvalu, Solomon Islands participating along with the hosts. American Samoa, Samoa, the Cook Islands, New Zealand and Tonga will take part in the third and final competition in Samoa from May 23-27.

An AVC Beach Volleyball seminar will take place in New Zealand from January 21-23 before the start of the Sub-Zonal phase.
