Sri Lanka top Pool A in AVC Continental Beach Volleyball Cup

The tournament marked the start of qualification for the London 2012 Olympic Games in Asia
Nagapattinam, India, September 28, 2010 - Sri Lanka topped Pool A of the AVC Continental Beach Volleyball Cup in Nagapattinam, India on with a 2-0 record on Monday as the London 2012 Olympic Qualification began in Asia.

The tournament forms part of the FIVB's new system for qualification for the Olympic Games and Sri Lanka's win means they keep their dream of a place in London alive.

India's men and women finished second in the group with one win and one loss and will also move forward to the zonal tournament while Maldives ended their campaign without a win.
