All eyes on Brazil as FIVB World Grand Prix under a week away

Brazil's women's team will be looking to defend their FIVB World Grand Prix title when the competition begins next week
Lausanne, Switzerland, July 29, 2010 – Brazil’s women’s team will be hoping to emulate the performance of the men’s side at the FIVB World League come the start of FIVB World Grand Prix as the South American side look to defend their title and claim their ninth crown.

The men’s team picked up their ninth World League win last Sunday and with the Volleyball world turning their attention to the FIVB World League, all eyes will be on Ze Roberto and his side.

The last FIVB tournament saw the Brazilian’s finish second to Italy at the FIVB World Grand Champions Cup in Japan last November following an upset against the eventual champions. They will also be looking to gain momentum ahead of the FIVB Women’s World Championship from October 29-November 10.

The FIVB World Grand Prix runs from August 6-29 with the Final Round set to take place in Ningbo, China for the second time in three years.
