McCutcheon ups Grand Prix preparations with trip to Europe

Hugh McCutcheon took the trip to Europe to see players such as Heather Bown play ahead of the FIVB World Grand Prix later this year
Colorado, USA, March 19, 2010 - Hugh McCutcheon, coach of the USA Women’s team, travelled to Europe last week to watch a number of his players compete for their club sides in preparation for the FIVB World Grand Prix.

McCutcheon, who led his team to ninth place in last year’s competition, went to Italy to watch Lindsey Berg (MC-Carnaghi Villa Cortese), Heather Bown (Monte Schiavo Banca Marche Jesi) and Logan Tom (Asystel Volley Novara) before heading on to the Czech Republic to see Kim Glass and Ogonna Nnamani (Prostejov).

The last time the USA won the FIVB World Grand Prix was in 2001, since when their best finish has been third place in 2003 and 2004. The FIVB World Grand Prix runs from August 6-29, with the final round due to take place in Ningbo, China.
