German legend Grün honoured with award

Angelina Grün took part in three FIVB World Grand Prix competitions as well as the FIVB 2006 World Championships and the 2004 Athens Olympic Games
Berlin, Germany, March 8, 2010 – Ex-German Volleyball legend and FIVB World Championship 2006 participant Angelina Grün was presented a special recognition award on Saturday for her services to the sport by the Germany Volleyball Association.

Grün, who also played in the 2002, 2003 and 2004 FIVB World Grand Prix finishing with a bronze medal on her first outing, was given the award by Germany Volleyball Association President Werner von Moltke who said that she had been an inspiration to many.

“Due to your character you have won many sympathies for volleyball as a sport, were always fair and a role model as team leader,"
said Mr. Moltke about Grün. " You are the best example for stability, solidarity, popularity as well as sense of responsibility. Hence, you have rendered outstanding services for volleyball as a sport.”
