FIVB launches Young Writers 4 Young Players competition

 
Winners of the contest will represent the FIVB Press Department at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and provide news content for the FIVB website
Lausanne, Switzerland, February 16, 2010 – The FIVB is pleased to announce the launch of the Young Writers 4 Young Players competition ahead of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games due to take place in Singapore from August 14-26.

The competition, aimed at 18 to 21-year-olds, has been created to find two budding young journalists to experience the joy of reporting first hand at the Youth Olympic Games.

The writers, one male and one female, will travel to the matches and work as bonafide journalists, collaborating alongside FIVB media staff.

Flights, accommodation and lodgings will be provided for both winners.

To be in with a chance to participate, entrants need to submit an article about youth Volleyball in their home country to the FIVB by April 1, 2010. The email should include the subject line “Young Writers 4 Young Players” and be sent to press@fivb.org.

Entrants also need to have previous press credentials or a letter of presentation from the director or editor in chief of a media outlet.
