Egypt men's volleyball team crowned Arab Champions

Egypt claimed the Arab Championship title
Kuwait, December 5, 2014 – Egypt claimed the Arab Championship title, following a straight-set victory over Qatar 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-15) in the final at Hilal El Moteri Hall in Kuwait on Friday.

Algeria confirmed the dominance of the African side against the Asian side at the Arab Championship after Algeria stunned hosts Kuwait 3-2 (25-18, 23-25, 25-21, 17-25, 15-10) in the bronze medal match.

The competition featured 9 teams, which were divided into two pools. Pool A included Egypt, Algeria, Bahrain and Iraq, while pool B showed Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Libya and Yemen.

Egypt defeated Algeria 3-0, Bahrain 3-1 and Iraq 3-0 in the first round before beating Kuwait 3-0 in the semifinal.

Beside the trophy Ahmed Youssef was nominated the competition MVP, while Abdelhalim Ebo selected the best blocker and Mohamed Abdelmoneim the best attacker.
