Beach Get Involved seminar held in Senegal

Mr Christian Didembourg was the FIVB Instructor at the TS Beach Get Involved course in Dakar
Dakar, Senegal, August 4, 2014 - The Senegalese Development Centre organised a Beach Get Involved Technical Seminar in Dakar from July 20-24, supervised by FIVB Instructor Mr Christian Didembourg from Belgium.
A total of 28 men and 7 women from Mali, Gambia, the Comoros and the host country took part in the programme. The course participants displayed a high level of interest and commitment. The facilities made available for the course also contributed to the success of the event. The court for the practice sessions was good, even if the sea wind sometimes made playing conditions difficult.
The participants in the Beach Get Involved seminar in Dakar all had a good level of knowledge and skills,  which would benefit from long-term mentoring. Beach volleyball is growing in Senegal and a specific development plan for the sport would help to build on this momentum. The National Volleyball Federation also has the resources necessary to start implementing a beach volleyball competition.
