Anti-Doping Outreach Programme visits U21 World Championships in Larnaca

The Anti-Doping Outreach Programme will visit the FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 World Championships in Larnaca
Lausanne, Switzerland, July 22, 2014 - A third session of the Anti-Doping Outreach Programme will take place at the FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 World Championships in Larnaca, Cyprus, from July 25-26.

The Anti-Doping Outreach Programme will be conducted in collaboration with the Cyprus Anti-Doping Authority (CYADA) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Participants will include beach volleyball players, coaches, managers and medical staff. The aim of the programme is to improve knowledge of anti-doping.

A short interactive session will provide valuable information on anti-doping as well as a presentation of useful tools to enhance the knowledge of the participants on this important topic. Participants will also be able to put their questions to medical delegate Dr. Hossam Baghat and representatives of the Cyprus Anti-Doping Authority.

The course in Larnaca is the third session in the Anti-Doping Outreach Programmes spearheaded by the FIVB. The pilot programme was launched last year in Tijuana, Mexico, during the FIVB Beach Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championships. Another session took place during the FIVB Beach Volleyball U23 World Championships in Myslowice, Poland from June 10-15, 2014.

More information on the WADA Outreach Model can be found here.
