Antigua and Barbuda welcome Young Players Course

38 boys and girls participated in the course
Saint John's, Antigua and Barbuda, July 17, 2014 - The beautiful island of Antigua and Barbuda hosted a Young Players Course from July 9-13 under the supervision of FIVB Instructor Mrs Susan Gozansky from the United States. 38 young players were selected for the course.

The main aim of the event was to build on local interest for volleyball and to motivate increased participation in the sport. In total, 11 boys and 27 girls attended the course and FIVB instructor Mrs Gozansky was satisfied with the high level of interest and energy demonstrated by the participants, who represent the future of the game in the island.

The promotion of volleyball in Antigua and Barbuda faces a number of challenges, including a lack of training facilities. This makes organising several training sessions simultaneously difficult.
The Young Players Course, however, covered a variety of essential training drills and introduced participants to the fundamental techniques in volleyball.
