Congolese coaches up to speed with Level 1 coaching course

The DR Congo has 23 new coaches to help develop volleyball after an FIVB course
Lubumbashi, DR Congo, July 13, 2014 - Twenty three coaches in the province of Katanga and Kinshasa were able to celebrate passing the Level 1 pro-coaching course following a program of theory and practice in the Joseph Kabila Sports Stadium.

The course took place from July 3 – 13 under the tutelage of Belgian FIVB instructor Michel Vandermeulen, who helped the coaches gain knowledge about the practice of volleyball and develop the skills needed to lead a volleyball team.

That included team tactics and skill training as well as methods to build and conduct training sessions adapted to the level of the players and the time of year.

To gain their certificate, coaches had to demonstrate a mastery of skills acquired through a practical test and a written test.
