Denmark launches High Performance Summer Volleyball Camp
Copenhagen, Denmark, May 15, 2014 – Just one month after Denmark was appointed the 5th FIVB/CEV Regional Volleyball Development Centre in Europe, it is launching its first exciting activity.
A High Performance Summer Volleyball Camp will kick start the FIVB/CEV Regional Volleyball Development Centre – Copenhagen (DEN). The camp is a combination of trainer education and volleyball training.
“Our ambition is to create a high quality camp, with interesting and challenging content for participating players and coaches,” says Sven Brix, Elite Director of the Danish Volleyball Federation and RVDC Director.
“We are pleased with the enthusiasm and dynamism being shown by our colleagues and friends from Denmark,” CEV President André Meyer said. “Immediately after their Volleyball Centre was officially acknowledged as one of the main hubs for the development of our sport in Europe, they started drawing up plans – including short- and long-term actions – that will surely benefit our volleyball family.”
To achieve the highest possible level, the Danish national team coaches are working together with the coaches from the Danish Talent Centre to deliver all of the practical and educational elements of the camp. There will also be additional club coaches working at the camp.
The camp is open for all youth players (boys and girls) born no later than 2003 who would like to train, educate themselves, meet old friends and make new ones.
In total, 320 players and 33 coaches attended the camp in 2013.
To end the camp, an international match between Denmark and Austria in the men’s CEV Volleyball European League has been scheduled.
The camp is located in Ikast, a small town in the heart of Jutland.
