Joep van Iersel to run FIVB Beach Get Involved course
The five-day international course will take place at the FIVB/CEV Regional Volleyball Development Centre (RVDC) in Kettering. The course is aimed at getting more people playing beach volleyball and playing at a higher level. The focus will be on beach skills, drills, organisation and participation development.
Mr van Iersel brings more than 20 years of expertise in the sport both in the Netherlands, where he has worked in development and more recently as a Competitions Director, and also with the CEV and FIVB. At an international level, he was initially a Referee Delegate and is currently a Supervisor. He is also a member of the FIVB Rules of the Game Commission, which is responsible for beach volleyball.
Lisa Wainwright, Chief Executive of Volleyball England said: “We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Joep van Iersel’s expertise running this course. He has had huge experience in running international tournaments and developing the sport, which he is now sharing with both an International and English audience at the RVDC here in England.”
CEV President Mr André Meyer added: “This seminar will be a real boost to beach volleyball development across Europe and we are delighted that it is being run as Volleyball England’s second international activity in 2014 at its RVDC in Kettering. As beach volleyball grows in popularity, it is very important that the CEV’s national federations have a talented workforce to deliver its development across Europe.”
The Beach Get Involved seminar runs from May 26-30 in Kettering, England.
