CAVB Coaching Instructors Seminar opens in Cairo
Cairo, Egypt, April 10, 2013 - The first ever African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) Coaching Instructors Seminar was opened at the Sonesta Hotel in Cairo on Thursday in the presence of members of the Coaches Commission, presided by Sherif El Shemerly and CAVB Executive Director Howyda Mondy.
The seminar is being directed by FIVB instructor Jivko Jetchev from Bulgaria and conducted by El Shemerly.
El Shemerly opened the seminar with a review of the main points of the CAVB Coaches Commission meeting on Wednesday and noted that the Commission has now put in place a solid framework for the development of coaches in Africa.
Jetchev started the seminar session with a lecture on volleyball history, which included key milestones in the sport and the success of the FIVB in broadening its calendar of events.
The seminar was conducted over a period of three days with discussions covering various aspects of the sport of volleyball, the Olympic movement, the Instructors Operations Manuea, educational materials for coaches as well as practical presentations by participants and recommendations on methodology.
