Variety of activities planned at Development Centre in England
Kettering, England, April 10, 2014 - A variety of activities have been planned by Volleyball England at the FIVB/CEV Regional Volleyball Development Centre in Kettering for the upcoming months, including a DataVolley Seminar, a Beach Get Involved Seminar and an FIVB Level II Coaching Course.
Volleyball England is pleased to announce that the CEV DataVolley Seminar will take place from April 25 through 27 alongside the national Super 8 League playoff finals. Data Volley is the volleyball statistical software that helps scout and analyse all game situations. The 2-day seminar will cover all aspects of the software and will be delivered by one of the DataVolley developers. By the end of the course the attendees will receive comprehensive knowledge of the software and be able to understand the application of the statistics to enhancing team performance, tactics and training. The seminar will be extremely useful to both coaches and statisticians and will develop their understanding of the most widely used statistics software in volleyball.
The Beach Get Involved Seminar will take place from May 26 through 30. This international seminar is a must for anyone involved in coaching and delivering beach volleyball. Industry-leading knowledge on beach volleyball skills, drills, organisation and participation development is on offer. The 5-day event will offer exciting ideas to implement at the beach volleyball venues. This includes a number of opportunities to discuss the current work being carried out by each candidate in their area or country, allowing to identify challenges while using the experience of other attendees. The course also includes a visit to the London Legacy Beach Volleyball courts at Crystal Palace, hosting a tournament featuring local teams. The day will include the opportunity to see how well established centres operate and should give participants an idea of how to stimulate activity using promoted events. Crystal Palace also demonstrates how major sporting events can benefit the local community and create a long lasting legacy.
An exciting visit to the British capital is also included in the FIVB Level II Coaching Course scheduled to take place August 18 through 29. These courses aim to improve the knowledge and competence of coaches and teachers, present the most recent trends of the modern game and establish a unified system for training coaches. The course specifically involves the coaching of advanced level teams and is carried out over a 13-day period, which includes one rest day in London, with access to 60+ tours and attractions including Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, the London Bridge experience, a Thames River Cruise and many more.
