The theoretical and practical lessons will take place at the national sports center for popular education and LAT DIOR Stadium in Thies

Thies, Senegal, April 7, 2014 – A Level I Coaches Course is currently underway in Thies under the leadership of Course Director Mr. Mostafa Ahchouche and Course Instructor Mr. Mbaye Deme.

The FIVB Level I Coaches Course, which began on April 5, will run for a total of 12 days ending on April 16. This is the first time that the Fédération Sénégalaise de Volley Ball (FSVB) has organised an FIVB Coaches Course in the city of Thies, which is known for its good young players and its center for teacher training in physical education.

A total of 31 participants, mainly coaches in primary and high schools, are taking part in the course. In all there are five women and 26 men (one from Mali, the rest from Senegal) looking to develop their knowledge of the game and to help spread the game across the country.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr Alioune Diakhala (Sports Director at the Ministry of Sports), Mrs Marie Pierre (Director of the Regional Sport Service of Thies), Mr Mamadou Ndoye (President of the National Federation) and Mr Raoul Latouff (FSVB General Secretary).

The course has already received a great deal of coverage through the Senegalese Press.
