Sao Tome e Principe learn from Olympic final referee

Jorge Carvalho passed on his experience as an FIVB referee to officials in Sao Tome e Principe
Sao Tome, Sao Tome e Principe, March 20, 2014 – Volleyball and beach volleyball referees in Sao Tome e Principe were able to learn from the very best that the FIVB has to offer at a recently-held course.

Portuguese referee Jorge Carvalho, who refereed the London 2012 Olympic Games men’s beach volleyball final visited the country to run a five-day refereeing course from March 16-20.

Currently there are a number of FIVB Cool Volley programmes being run in schools on the island, in tandem with those run by the Sao Tome e Principe Federation under the guidance of president Jose Luis de Jesus and the hope is with good referees playing and coaching standards in the country will improve markedly.
