Kenya complete successful International Referee Candidate Course for women

 
Fifteen women from eight countries (Ethiopia, South Africa, Egypt, Tunisia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Burundi and Kenya) participated in the course.
Lausanne, Switzerland, March 10, 2014 – An FIVB International Referee Candidate Course for women, held in Nairobi, has come to a successful end.

The course, which ran from March 3 to 10,  was held with the cooperation of the Khartoum Volleyball Development Centre. 

The opening ceremony was attended by Ndiritu Gikaria, president of the Kenya Sports Council; Waithaka  Kioni, Vice President of the African Volleyball Confederation and President of the Kenyan Volleyball Federation;  Khartoum Volleyball Development Centre representative Adel Ibrahim; and Miendo Salamba, Secretary of the CAVB Referees Commission.

The course covered theoretical and practical aspects of the game and was coordinated by Ismail Chge and Tabita.

The participants will also officiate all the matches at the Nairobi Open tournament for senior national men’s and women’s teams.
