National Management course marks volleyball development milestone in Tanzania
Tanga, Tanzania, November 4, 2013 - In an effort to develop volleyball in the country, a National Management course concluded in Tanga, Tanzania this weekend, under the supervision of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) and the Tanzania Volleyball Association (TAVA).
Tanga Regional Sports Officer Dinah Tesha called upon the participants to take the course seriously, as she likened sports to other professions and stressed the need for educated individuals.
Fifteen people from various regional volleyball associations in the country attended the course, which was conducted by the FIVB Instructor Mahmoud Elsir Taha from Sudan.
The participants learned about the principles of management, strategic planning, CAVB and the National Federation structure, Report Writing, Marketing, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Communication Skills and Media Relationships.
The course was the first of its kind since TAVA inception in 1972, and marked another milestone for volleyball development in the country.
The closing ceremony was attended by the President of the Tanzania Volleyball Association Mr. Augustino Agapa.
