Germany and the Netherlands prepare for European Championships

The German team celebrate their second victory against the Dutch.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, September 1, 2013 – The German and Dutch national teams played a series of friendly matches against each other ahead of the European Volleyball Championships that are scheduled to take place in October.

The German team came away with two wins while the Dutch team managed to secure just one. In the last match Germany beat the Netherlands 3-1 ( 25-22 , 19-25 , 25-15 , 25-22 ). The German team will continue their training in Moers before the final selection is made.

As Vital Heynan, coach of the German team said, "This was a significant improvement and almost everyone has played. It was generally a good experience for us and we are on the right track."
