Level I Coaches Course held for first time in Bejaia

 
The course, which started on September 1, will run for 12 days.

Bejaia, Algeria, September 2, 2013 – The National Volleyball Federation of Algeria is currently holding a Level I Coaches Course in the city of Bejaia, under the leadership of FIVB instructor André Glaive.

The course opened on Sunday with a ceremony held at the historic blue hall of Bejaia. The ceremony was attended by the mayor of the city as well as the President of the People's Assembly, the two vice presidents of the Algerian Federation, the President of the League of the Province of Bejaïa as well as the Federation’s Assistant Director of Youth and Sports.

The 35 participating candidates, who come from the cities Bejaia, Alger, Sétif, Chlef, Tlemcen and Oran, include former international players and five women

This is the first time an FIVB course is being held in the city of Bejaïa, an area of the country that has seen the rise of many national players over the years.

The course will include theoretical and practical components. The theory will deal with the history of volleyball, the changing rules of the game and the functioning of the FIVB. Some of the teaching material will include videos from past World Championships in order to more effectively demonstrate training principles and procedures.
