Ayandegan and Bampoosh Iran's Beach Volleyball champs

The Iranian Volleyball Federation is now looking to prepare team for the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship in Korea.

Bandar Anzali, Iran, August 23, 2013 – Iran’s Ayandeghan Gholestan and Bampoosh teams were crowned Youth and Junior Beach Volleyball Champions.

There were 24 teams that took part in the Youth Championships in Bandar Anzali.

Esmaeel Mosafer and Mohammad Irannejad of the Bampoosh Team not only grabbed the gold medal but also the championship title. The Sam Choob team of Taha Igdari and Farshad Khakpoor took silver while the Shahrdar team took the bronze.

In the Junior category Ayandeghan Gholestan won gold against Labaniyat of Haraz. Labaniyat’s players Ali Mostafa Nejad and Sajjad Lotfi had difficulty in reception and were unable to match the strong spikes of the Ayandeghan Gholestan team.

Hassan Mansouri, Chief of the Beach Volleyball Committee at the Iran Volleyball Federation said, “Organising different beach volleyball tournaments at the national and international level will help the progress of the sport in our country. We have good courts in Tehran so we can hold different tournaments there. We have also to rejuvenate our coaches and senior team.”
