Swiss U21 world champs add Europe U22 title

 
Switzerland’s Nina Betschart joined Brazil’s Carolina Salgado (2004 and 2005) in winning back-to-back gold at the FIVB U21 World Championships in 2012 and both did it each year with different partners as well

Varna, Bulgaria, August 18, 2013 - Switzerland's Nina Betschart and Anouk Vergé-Dépré became the first U22 Beach Volleyball champions of Europe on Sunday.

The FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 World Championship winners in 2012 won the inaugural 2013 CEV U22 Beach Volleyball European Championship presented by Mtel (formerly U23) without losing a single set throughout the tournament and triumphed with the historical title. 

The medal podium was completed by Spain’s Angela Lobato Herrero/Paula Soria Gutiérrez and Czech Republic’s Hana Tresnáková/Eliška Gálová.
