Ekaterinburg, Russia, August 8, 2013 – As they get set for the second weekend of FIVB World Grand Prix matches, the coaches of the teams participating in Ekaterinburg offered their hopes and aspirations for their teams at a press conference held at the Hyatt Regency hotel in the city.

Russian coach Yuriy Marichev:  “Among the players of Russia’s Senior Women’s team there are three players from local volleyball club Uralochka. It will be strange if players from this famous club don’t play in the national team. It is now time for the young players also for players of Uralochka. I am satisfied with their work in team. But our main problem now is acclimatising to our current surroundings as we played in Brazil and had two sleepless nights because of our flight schedule. Our main task is to play well here and successfully compete against strong teams. We will try to qualify for the Final but the major aim for us is the European Championship.”

Thailand coach Radchatagriengkai Kiattipong: “This is the first visit of our team to Russia. For us it is a great honor to participate in such big event. We would like to achieve big success here and realise our potential. We hope we will show our best.”

Cuba coach Juan Carlos Gala Rodriguez: “Our team visits Ekaterinburg every year to participate in the Boris Yeltsin Tournament. We would like to thank the organisers for their hospitality and for the support of our team. We are here to gain new results and to develop our team. We have a lot of new players in comparison with last year and this tournament will show their potential and further development.”

Italy coach Marco N. Mencarelli: “Participating in the FIVB World Grand Prix tournament is good preparation for our team and I would like to thank the Volleyball Federation of Russia and the Organising Committee for their work. We will try to show our best game and I have got a good feeling from my team. After the tournament we can change some players.”
