Saint Lucia welcomes men’s teams in Pool J

Gros Islet, Saint Lucia, April 24, 2013 – The NORCECA Second Round Men’s World Championship Qualification Tournament Group J serves off at the Beausejour Gymnasium from April 27 to 29 with the participation of teams from El Salvador, Haiti, St Kitts & Nevis and hosts Saint Lucia.

The top team after the conclusion of the round-robin tournament will be granted a ticket to next year’s third round. Also the best second placed teams of the six tournaments of the year will advance to the next round.

Hosts Saint Lucia, currently ranked 9th in NORCECA and 53rd in FIVB, topped the Pool B also as home team last year with a victory over Saint Vincent and Grenadines.

St Kitts and Nevis (19th and 92nd) and Haiti (25th and 78th) finished in second place in Pools F and C respectively, while El Salvador (16th and 74th) was third in Pool G.

The teams will play under a round-robin format and then the first and second placed will decide the top position and the sides of third and fourth places will battle for the last pass to the next phase in 2014.
