DR Congo teachers given FIVB training course

Congolese teachers were shown how best to teach volleyball in schools during their course

Kinshasa, DR Congo, 12 March, 2013 - Physical education teachers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo have taken part in a coaching course to help spread the sport in schools.

Twenty Congolese teachers took part in the course that was organised by FEVOCO, the Congolese volleyball federation in collaboration with the FIVB.

The course ran from March 4-8 in the county’s capital Kinshasa and chief instructor Michel Vandermeulen showed how the teaching of volleyball can be introduced and organised in both primary and secondary schools in the country.

Participants learned about the different type of games and techniques needed to help develop volleyball across a variety of age ranges so as to further spread the word of the sport across the country.
