Buenos Aires, Argentina, March 6, 2013 – The Argentine women’s senior team carried out their first official training under coach Guillermo Orduna this week.

The team of 10 comprises seniors and U 23 players. Coach Orduna was assisted by Juan Manuel Serramalera, new Assistant Coach of the team and Marcelo Magliarella, its trainer. Guillermo Caceres, coach of the women's and girls' grass-root teams also helped in the training.

Experienced national players like Yael Castiglione and Tatiana Rizzo are now part of the team. "To wear the light blue and white Argentine Jersey is not something one does every day," said Castiglione.  "There is not a big difference among the players' level in the group and each must do her utmost to give the national team their best.”

"Our first goal is to qualify for the 2014 World Championship and out long term dream is to qualify for the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016,”said Rizzo.

The players began their first day of the programme on Monday with weights and technical training.
