Olympic champions meet with FIVB President

 
FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° with Fabi, Fofão, Sheilla and Adenízia
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, February 20, 2013 – FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° met with four Olympic champions Fabi, Fofão, Sheilla and Adenízia at the Brazil Volleyball Federation’s offices in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday for an exchange of views on the state of volleyball.

Over the course of the afternoon, the President and the players had an informal discussion session on the state of the sport nationally and globally.

Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the meeting. “We want to contribute to help in the development of volleyball. We brought ideas that we believe is good for everyone,” said Fabi while her colleague Sheilla stated, “It was good to have the opportunity for this type of exchange.”

President Graça highlighted the relevance of being close to athletes, both at the national and international levels.

“It was a really positive meeting. It is essential to hear the athletes and understand their ideas. This kind of initiative is essential to have an administration that works for everybody in the volleyball community.”

On Friday, the players will compete in the Brazilian Volleyball Super League. Along with their other team members from Rio de Janeiro Vôlei Clube, Fofão and Fabi will battle for first place overall against Sheilla and Adenízia of the Osasco club.
