FIVB President meets IOC Sports Director in Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, February 20, 2013 – Christophe Dubi, Sports Director of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) met President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° at the FIVB office in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday. Mr Dubi was accompanied by Isabella Burczak, senior manager of the IOC’s Sport Department.

Mr Dubi is part of the IOC delegation travelling in Brazil from February 18 to 22 to monitor the progress of the 2016 Local Olympic Committee.  

During his visit to the FIVB office, Mr Dubi had the opportunity to watch a presentation by representatives of the Brazilian Volleyball Federation (CBV) and a video of the CBV’s Volleyball Development Center facilities. The IOC Sports Director was also informed about the country's advancements in the sport over the last 16 years.

Dr Graça expressed his satisfaction with the meeting saying, “As Rio will host the next Olympics, it was a great opportunity to show Mr Dubi what has been done with the second most popular sport in the country.”
