Volleyball clinic launched at Nkumba University in Uganda

Entebbe, Uganda, February 3, 2013 - Nkumba University Volleyball Club, the home of the four-time Uganda National Ladies League champions, launched its first volleyball clinic for players in the Under 19 category in January.

The clinic, which helped pass on skills to young players who are expected to be the future of volleyball in the country, was opened by Uganda Volleyball Federation President Mr Sadik Nasiwu on January 10 at the University campus in Entebbe and ran until January 20.

Thirty three participants including eight boys and 25 girls have camped for the residential training which was conducted by Level 2 coach and coach of the women’s national team Tonny Lakony.

The participants had theory, video and practical sessions with special talks from different personalities in areas like career guidance and counseling.
