Training and refereeing top the agenda for CSV meetings in Buenos Aires
On Saturday, discussion focused on the Refereeing Commission, represented by Guillermo Paredes (Refereeing Committe) and Juan Angel Pereyra (Playing Rules). The CSV is planning to bolster the training of referees on the continent, with the objective of positioning top South American referees at the most prestigious international bodies.
On Sunday it was the turn of the Argentine Volleyball Federation prsesident, Juan Antonio Gutierrez, and the general secretary, Gabriel Salvia (who is also director of the FIVB-FeVA Argentine Volleyball Regional Development Centre) to hold a discussion on plans for basic volleyball training across the continent.
“This is our first visit to Argentina and we are very excited by the importance of this country globally,” said Lloreda Currea. “We came here to work hard and to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation with leading international volleyball players. We also hold to the spirit of development, and we continue to work on it diligently.”
“It is a point of pride for Argentina that the CSV president and CEO are in the country,” said Gutierrez. “That speaks not only to the commitment to work together, but the willingness to bring the institution to each of the member countries. I welcome the initiative and we will work hard to continue to grow, strengthening ties and pointing to the development of our sport in the region.”
