Officials meet off the court to plan beach volleyball tour

 
Santa Fe’s mayor presented awards to guest at the dinner that was attended by local authorities and officials

Santa Fe, Argentina, November 24, 2012 – With the opening stop of the South American 2012/13 Beach Volleyball Tour taking place in Santa Fe, officials took the opportunity to organise meetings among members of the South American Volleyball Confederation (CSV) and Santa Fe authorities. Discussions focused on the CSV Beach Volleyball Commission’s long-term programme plans.

The Beach Volleyball Committee settled the 2012/13 calendar and discussed other important projects of importance to the whole continent. The meetings took place at the new state-of-the-art Hotel Los Silos.

Santa Fe mayor José Corral, a leading proponent of hosting South American Beach Volleyball Tour events as part of his plans to make Santa Fe an important sport venue, held a dinner in which he hosted the president of the Argentine Volleyball Federation, Juan Antonio Gutiérrez; the president of the Ecuadorian Volleyball Federation, Jorge Granja; the president of the Uruguayan Volleyball Federation, Julio Pérez; the head of Chilean beach volleyball and former president of his country’s Volleyball Federation, Jorge Pino Madrid; the delegates of the South American Volleyball Confederation, Carlos Souto, Mauricio Levy and Elzir Martins de Oliveira; Argentine Olympic referee Osvaldo Sumavil; and Bernardino Landi, the local government’s sport director.
