International Congress on Volleyball Training held in Spain

This was the 11th edition of the Spanish International Congress on Volleyball Training
Valladolid, Spain, November 6, 2012 – The 2012 International Congress on Volleyball Training finished this weekend in the Spanish city of Valladolid, after three days in which over a hundred participants enjoyed the teachings of well-known top-level coaches.

This was the 11th edition of the Spanish International Congress on Volleyball Training. The coaches Marco Mencarelli, Raul Lozano, Francisco Hervas, Ricardo Maldonado and Jose Miguel Serrato shared their knowledge and experience on different topics related to the training and techniques of modern volleyball.

The president of the Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation, Agustin Martin Santos, inaugurated the Congress on Friday afternoon and stressed the importance of the event, as well as the need for activities such as the one held in Valladolid to promote Volleyball progress. After the opening, the presentations began with the participation of the Spain women's national coach, Francisco Hervas, and one of the keynote speakers of the Congress, Argentine Raul Lozano, who focused his first participation in the analysis of K-1 and K-2 complexes.

On Saturday, the sessions resumed with discussions conducted by Spain junior men's national team coach Ricardo Maldonado and Italian coach Marco Mencarelli, who featured at the conference with a lesson that analysed the reception system.

In the afternoon session, the presentations by Spain junior women's national coach, Jose Miguel Serrato, transitioned into the subsequent analysis of Marco Mencarelli and Raul Lozano, who commanded the interest of attendees in two conferences exploring reception and attack systems. The dissertations by Marco Mencarelli and Raul Lozano continued into Sunday, when the Congress was finalised – but not before a collective panel that discussed the structural and technical strategies of modern volleyball put the official end to the activities.

All the participants emphasised the high quality of the presentations and the exceptional level of teaching presented in the three days of the event. The 11th edition of the most important Volleyball Congress in Spain was organised by the Spanish Volleyball Federation with the cooperation of the Spanish Olympic Committee and the Volleyball Federation of Castilla y Leon region.
