Brazil open with victory in U-23 Men's Pan Am Cup

Langley, Canada, September 26, 2012 – The South American sides of Brazil and Argentina scored straight-set victories over NORCECA representatives from Dominican Republic and Mexico in the second day of action of the U-23 Men’s Pan American Cup at Langley Sport Centre on Wednesday.

Brazilian Flavio Gualberto and Dominican Kelvin Campechano each finished with four blocks.

“We had a very well balanced game tonight, but we still can improve,” Brazil’s Coach Leonardo Carvalho said. “The Dominican team played much better than in their first match against Argentina, obviously they had a long trip.”

Gonzalo Quiroga, the captain of Argentina, stated that even though he could not play after pulling a muscle, everything worked as expected.
