Argentine city Santa Fe recognizes Olympic participants

 Santa Fe, Argentina, September 5, 2012 – At a session of the Santa Fe City Council, volleyball players from Santa Fe who represented Argentina at the Olympic Games were honoured for their performances at the Olympics.

The contributions of Luciano De Cecco, a setter with the Argentina men’s volleyball team, and beach volleyball player Virginia Zonta, who qualified for the Games in Santa Fe, were recognized by the Santa Fe City Council. 

The President of the Council, Leonardo Simoniello, commented: “You represent the pride of the people of Santa Fe. You have grown as athletes in our city and fulfilled your goals, overcoming the difficulties that face those training in any sport. 

“You are examples for youngsters to follow, not only as outstanding athletes, but also as human beings. Your work, training and effort demonstrate your commitment. 

“As such, it is only fitting that you are recognized and presented to our people for your behaviour and dedication in fulfilling your goals and living your dreams.”
