New Zealand makes historic journey to Myanmar

 
New Zealand's U20 men's team will play Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Iran in the South East Asian Junior Men's Championships
Wellington, New Zealand, August 20, 2012 - The New Zealand junior men's team left for Myanmar on Friday to take part in the South East Asian Junior Men's Championships to become the first New Zealand team to travel to Myanmar since the lifting of UN sanctions on that country.

The tour group is being coached by Neil Anderson, with Sam Ryburn as assistant coach and Don Thwaites as manager. Des Kerekere will also attend the Championships as referee and Dr Kim Ma'i'ai is travelling as team doctor with Joshua Ong as physiotherapist. 

New Zealand will face opponents from the host nation, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Iran. Myanmar have also organised additional training games prior to the Championships opening on August 22.
