First day of Argentine coaches’ congress draws 470 participants

 
A record 470 people registered for the 2012 Volleyball Coaches and Trainers Congress in Santa Fe
Santa Fe, Argentina, August 6, 2012 - The city of Santa Fe is hosting Argentina’s 2012 Volleyball Coaches and Trainers Congress with A record 470 people registered for the event, while a FIVB Level II Coaches Course is taking place at the FIVB regional develoment centre.

The Congress was held from August 3 to 5 with a series of lectures and networking events held.

The event was organized by the Santa Fe Volleyball Association with the support of the Santa Fe Volleyball Federation, the Argentine Volleyball Federation and the Santa Fe City and Province authorities.

It was directed bay Prof. Rodolfo Quirós and welcomed important international lecturers included Prof. Joao Crisóstomo Bojikian (Brazil), Prof. Guillermo Orduna (Argentina), Prof. Rodrigo Ribeiro (Brazil), Lic. Ariel García (Argentina), Prof. Julián Álvarez (Argentina) and Prof. Cristian Hernández (Chile).

The coaches course highlights the importance of the centre in the South American region, with 30 coaches from Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Guatemala, Brazil and Uruguay all collaborating.

The opening ceremony took place August 3 and was led by FeVA president Juan Antonio Gutiérrez, the Santa Fe Sport Development under-secretary director Carlos Iparraguirre, Santa Fe Sport director Bernardino Landi, Santa Fe Volleyball Federation vice-president Claudio Verasio, and Santa Fe Volleyball Association president Fabián Bochatay.
