New videos from the history of volleyball will be uploaded to the YouTube channel
Lausanne, Switzerland, April 13, 2012 – The FIVB Technical and Development Department has successfully launched a new YouTube channel highlighting the history of volleyball and how the game has progressed.
The FIVB Volleyball Historical Matches channel contains clips transferred from archived footage with the aim of making key moments from the past available to fans of volleyball today.
“It is important that the FIVB shares this wonderful footage with the world so it is clear to see how much the game has developed over the last four decades,” FIVB President Jizhong Wei said. “This archived film is a real insight into how teams of yesteryear performed and played, and can also act as an education tool for some of the development work we are doing around the world. I look forward to seeing more of it in the future.”
The channel currently showcases technical films from the Montreal 1976 and Moscow 1980 Olympic Games as well as part of the match between the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia at the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games, which you can watch below.
