Former player and coach Sohn Young-Wan passes away

 
Sohn Young-Wan led Korea at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo and also helped take Argentina to bronze at the 1982 Men's World Championship
Lausanne, Switzerland, October 5, 2011 – The FIVB is sad to announce that former Korean volleyball player and coach Sohn Young-Wan passed away at the age of 75 on Sunday.

The late volleyball legend coached his home land where he led them at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo before later having spells with Brazil and Argentina, leading the latter to bronze at the 1982 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship at home, their first ever medal in the tournament.

The FIVB and the whole of the volleyball family would like to offer their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Sohn Young-Wan.
