Serbia
coach Zoran Terzic: The match against the Dominican Republic was very
important for us because we knew that if we lost today our chance of
going to the final round would be very small. We knew the weak side
of the Dominican team so we made good serving at the start of the
game and we won, not easily, but when you win 3-0 you can say you won
easily.
Serbia
captain Maja Ognjenovic: Honestly, it was a very easy match for us –
easier than we expected – but more importantly it was a win for us.
We knew the weakness of the Dominican team was receptions and we used
that.
Serbia
No. 2 Jovana Brakocevic: We knew they have problems with reception so
we tried to serve harder and tried to play better against their block
and tried to catch them because they are strong attackers.
Dominican
Republic coach Marcos Kwiek: The only thing our team can do is to try
to go forward from now on. As a team, I don't think we have shown our
real strength. Today, the Serbian service was very good and that was
a cause of our loss. But we are improving set by set and getting
better. We have a difficult game tomorrow against Japan, but we will
try hard to show our real potential.
Dominican
Republic captain Milagros Cabral: The Serbian team was better than
us. Our attack was blocked and that led to this result. We have reset
our minds for tomorrow's match against Japan.
