Germany see off Peru in straight sets

Germany spike as they sealed a win over Peru to end their weekend on a high
Quanzhou, China, August 14. 2011 – Germany ended their weekend on a high as they saw off South American rivals Peru in straight sets (25-23, 25-15, 25-18) in their final match in Quanzhou, China on Sunday.

With the win Germany finish the weekend third in the pool while Peru end it winless.

Germany got off to a good start and took a four-point lead in the opening set. Peru called two time outs and gradually hauled themselves back into the match with quick attacks. However, Germany maintained its advantage and finished 25-23 with its blocks and attacks by Kozuch.

Germany a six point lead in the second set and stayed ahead throughout, never letting up as they took the frame and a 2-0 lead.

In the beginning of set three the German team appeared to lose momentum while Peru scored and took the lead at 5-1. However Germany gradually caught up and overtook Peru, finishing the set 25-18, winning the match.
