Outside hitters Wang Yimei and Hui Ruoqi got China several points at the start of the match as they were aided with blocks from Yang Jie and Yang Junjing. Peru tied at 4-4 but from there it was all China before Yimei ended proceedings with a devastating kill.
After losing the first set, Peru made adjustments with quicker attacks, and put up a stronger defense against the two Chinese spikers. China only led by two points up until the second technical time-out and then tied with Peru at 18-18. However Yang Junjing spiked to score at a vital point before her side sealed the set and a 2-0 lead.
Peru took a five point lead in the third set but following a timeout China found their way back into the match, eventually overtaking the South Americans. The Asians held their opponents off to pick up an easy win.

On Saturday China face Germany while Peru take on world champions Russia.
