2003 FIVB 8th Boys’
U19 World Championship
SUPHAN BURI, THAILAND
5th - 13th July 2003
Suphan Buri will serve up a unique
atmosphere of culture and tradition as the venue for the 8th FIVB
Boys' U-19 World Volleyball Championships in 2003.
The inspiring surroundings and immense history of the region will
make for a learning experience both on and off the court for the
players. Founded in the late 9th century there has been recent
evidence of ancient settlements dating back 3,800 years.
And due to the great effort and contribution of the 21st Prime
Minister of Thailand and patron of the FIVB 8th Boys U-19 World
Volleyball Championship Mr.Banharn Silpa-archa, Suphan Buri has
still maintained the real Thai tradition and culture while still
progressing to become one of the most modern cities in Thailand.
It is a testament to Suphan Buri's popularity that it is also
hosting the 2003 FIVB 12th Women's U-20 World Championship in
September.
Only 90 minutes from Bangkok International Airport, Suphan Buri's
prosperity, with excellent roads and good restaurants, provides a
clean-air feel about it, making for a very popular venue for the
youth of volleyball to display their wares. |
