Slovakia
The Slovakian Boy's U19
national team has been in preparation for
the 2003 Boy's U19 World Championship in
Thailand since 2001.
Coach
Hiadlovský has had his players in camp
for approximately 90-100 days per year and
the team's results over the past two years
reflect the hard work and determination,
in which this side has done.
Following 8th and 3rd place finishes at
two tournaments in Slovakia in 2001, the
Slovakian U19 Boy's side never finished
outside of the top four in five
tournaments in 2002. The year culminated
in victory at the Christmas International
Tournament in Slovakia.
2003 has brought further dividends with
victory at the Boy's U19 European
Qualification tournament in Slovakia
before a 7th place finish at the Boy's U19
European Championships in Croatia and a
4th at the Mies Cup in Belgium.
This team boasts a lot of natural
talent from a mix of players who have come
through the Volleyball centre of the
Slovak Volleyball Federation in Trencin
and other youth Volleyball clubs around
the country.
Captain Lukas Divis is one of the
standouts in an attack-accentuated team
and make sure you keep an eye on him as he
leads his side through what will be a
tournament, which will bring a number of
good results for this Slovak side.
