Maxim Mikhaylov, captain of Zenit Kazan: “The only thing that I can say is that we made so many mistakes in the fourth and fifth sets, and in high level volleyball, the team who make less mistakes win. This is what they did (Belchatow) and they won.”
Mariusz Wlazly, captain of PGE Skra Belchatow: “We are very happy we won this match against a very strong team that we know very much. We knew that it was going to be a very tough match and were prepared to fight. I think that our win was due to the fact that we made fewer mistakes than them.”
Vladimir Alenko, coach of Zenit Kazan: “I agree with Mariusz, we lost our game when we started accumulating mistakes. One of our main strengths did not work well, it is the serve. Add this to the high numbers of mistakes we made and it was enough for our opponents to win the match.”
Jacek Nawrocki, coach of PGE Skra Belchatow: “What can I tell you? This is a team that we are facing regularly in European competitions. We played against them a Champions League final two years ago as well as a semi-final match here. So, we know every time we meet each other it is not an easy match for either of us. That is why we are happy today to have managed to win although they took the advantage twice. We will analyse this match in depth and learn the lessons which might allow us to be strong contenders for the title.”
